Live better, longer through physical activity

jogger
Science is catching on to something that regular exercisers already know - exercise is a great health enhancer. Recent studies link regular physical activity to longevity, an enhanced immune system and fewer illnesses, reduction of stress and improved mood.

Exercise Rocks - and it needs to be a regular part of your life!

If getting started is a challenge, remember that doing something is better than doing nothing. If 20 - 30 minutes of walking is too much, start with just 10 - or walk around the block after dinner instead of watching television. Then the next week, instead of walking around one block, you can extend it to two, then three...

If walking sounds too boring, ask a friend to come with you. If that still isn't appealing, find a fun path or neighborhood, or do something you think will be fun, like riding a bike or swimming. Just do something.

Experts recommend that you perform some sort of cardiovascular activity at least three times a week. That's when you’re engaging your large muscle groups in continuous activity. Again, 20 - 30 minutes is good but if that's too much, just do what you can and increase it gradually.

Stretching helps keep muscles flexible. To help avoid injuries, as well as aches and pains, stretching pre- and post-workout is a great idea.

Ionix Supreme helps take physical performance to a higher level

If you haven't tried Ionix Supreme, there's no better day than today! Five Ways to Fend Off the Flu — Naturally

Flu season is just around the corner, but that doesn't mean you have to catch the bug like everyone else. Here are five things you can do now to boost your immune system and keep the sniffles at bay.
1. Boost your immune system with bovine colostrum. Also known as the "first milk" from a cow, colostrum contains natural, immune-boosting properties to bolster your defense against the flu and colds. You can get it through a generous mist of Isamune in the mouth each morning, and you and your family can improve your odds of staying healthy.
2. Give yourself four-times the Vitamin C power as a glass of OJ. Don't have time to grab some orange juice or fear the extra sugar and calories? Taking a Vitamin C supplement daily can help fill the gap. Try C-Lyte, which will give you four times the positive results of having regular Vitamin C. Each capsule is packed with our patented, potent form of Vitamin C and Ester C® to kick your system's germ-fighting power into high gear.
3. Protect yourself from damaging free radicals with extra antioxidants. We're living in a polluted world right now and damaging free radicals are lowering your immune systems. Daily servings of blueberries and other antioxidant-rich foods can help you stop free radicals, but it's tough to get all you need. One solution is to try our Antioxidants. Just a few capsules a day will give you the rejuvenating properties your body needs to put up a good fight.
4. Adaptogens reduce the effects of stress on your body. Your on-the-go lifestyle adds to the depression of your immune system. The best way to fight them? Get lots of rest, drink lots of fluids and take a daily supplement of adaptogens. Studies have found that adaptogens significantly lower our body's negative response to stress. Ionix Supreme is packed with adaptogens and is a powerful option to keep your body's defense system solid against germs even in the midst of stressful times.
5. Live enzymes improve your body's ability to absorb nutrients. Your body's largest defense mechanism is the digestive tract and in order to keep it working at its fullest potential and absorbing nutrients, you need live enzymes. Our Essentials for Women or Men vitamins, give your body the digestive enzymes you need to help it absorb key vitamins and minerals.

Is Omega 3 The Answer To Your Child's Behavioral Problems?

Omega-3 fish oil can help children suffering from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) symptoms, a study suggests. Results from "the largest, clinical-based omega-3 and omega-6 trial of its kind" bolstered views that fatty acids relieve aspects of the condition. The tests were undertaken by the University of South Australia and an Australian government research body.

They involved 132 children aged between 7 and 12 with ADHD symptoms. An omega 3 fatty acid supplement was used to test the effects of this essential fatty acid on ADHD. During the first half of the test, children were split into three groups. One took the omega 3 only, the second took omega 3 and a multi-vitamin/mineral supplement, while the third took placebo palm oil capsules for 15 weeks.

In the second half of the test all children were then given the omega 3 and the multi-vitamin/mineral. At the end of the 30-week-long trial, almost half of the children taking omega 3 for the whole study saw "significant" reductions in ADHD symptoms of inattention, hyperactivity and impulsivity, researchers said. After the placebo group switched to the combined oil supplement for 15 weeks, they showed significant improvements in parent behavior ratings and attention span.

The original omega 3 group continued to show improvements after an additional 15 weeks of taking the combined oil supplement in cognitive problems, inattention, restlessness, impulsivity and hyperactivity. Taking a multi-vitamin/mineral supplement showed no additional benefits for ADHD symptoms, indicating that fatty acids are more important, it was claimed.

The results build on a trial funded by Durham County Council in conjunction with Oxford University, which found that 40 per cent of 117 children with learning and behavioral conditions who took an omega 3 supplement improved their reading and spelling. Philip Calder, professor of nutritional immunology at the University of Southampton added: "The results of this latest trial add to the growing body of evidence showing that children with attention problems can benefit from increased intake of certain fatty acids."

Eating dark chocolate may keep heart healthy

NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - Eating dark chocolate regularly may help lower levels of inflammation, which is strongly associated with heart and blood vessel disease, Italian researchers report.

"In an apparently healthy population, even a small reduction of a low-grade inflammation such as that associated in this study with regular consumption of dark chocolate might have clinically relevant benefits in the primary prevention of cardiovascular disease," Dr. Romina di Giuseppe of Catholic University in Campobasso write in the current issue of The Journal of Nutrition.

The presence of inflammation was determined by measuring levels C-reactive protein (CRP), a biomarker for coronary artery disease, the researchers explain in their report. Di Giuseppe and her team hypothesized that people who eat more dark chocolate, which is rich in several types of antioxidants, might have lower CRP levels.

To investigate, they looked at 4,849 healthy men and women participating in the Moli-sani Project, an ongoing study of adults 35 and older living in southern Italy. They included 1,317 people who had eaten any chocolate at all in the past year, and 824 who consumed dark chocolate regularly. Most people who ate dark chocolate consumed 5.7 grams per day.

CRP levels averaged 1.32 mg/L in people who did not eat dark chocolate, compared to 1.10 mg/L in dark chocolate consumers. Individuals who ate dark chocolate had healthier diets overall than those who didn't; they were also younger and of higher social status, but less likely to exercise. But once the researchers adjusted for these and other relevant factors, the relationship between eating dark chocolate and lower CRP remained.

The range of CRP levels seen in the dark chocolate consuming group corresponds to a "mild" risk of cardiovascular disease, while CRP levels in the non-consumers would be associated with "moderate" risk, di Giuseppe and her colleagues note.

The benefits were seen when people ate up to one 20-gram serving of dark chocolate every 3 days, but eating more chocolate wasn't more beneficial; in fact, effects on CRP levels "tended to disappear" at higher consumption levels, the researchers found.

My personal journey with Isagenix

My journey with Isagenix products (and the business opportunity) is still in the early stages. I have lost 27 pounds so far, and still have a long way to go. To me, the amazing and unique things about Isagenix are these:
1. I have excellent energy, mental clarity and positive attitude while on the cleasing and fat burning program. The products do an outstanding job with balancing my brain chemistry.
2. I can easily keep the weight off, even when I go off the program. That is what thoroughly convinced me that these products are really different. Removing toxins and impurities from the body plays a major role in weight loss, especially in prevention of re-gaining the weight.
3. My digestive system is functioning much more smoothly and normally than ever before.
4. When I take the products, I can actually feel the skin on my face tightening up. This is the same sensation I have had before when using expensive anti-aging creams that help to rebuild the collagen and elastin in the skin. However, I get this just from the nutrition products; it is happening from the inside out. (I have not tried Isagenix skin care yet.)
5. I have no cravings for unhealthy foods.
6. I have no nagging aches, pains or headaches like I used to.
7. I have already started making money with very little time, effort or money invested.
